Jalapeno Jelly attacks!

So today, I'm unpacking. Same old stuff every day. Seems like the same old boxes too. Seems even like it will never end.
Suddenly I decide I've had enough and whip out 1lbs of jalapenos. Next thing I know I'm looking at 7 jars of Hot Jalapeno Jelly cooling on my counter. *Gigglin* Cracks me up when out of absolutely nowhere I NEED to drop what I'm doing and bake or do crafty crap. Why, it's a wonder I ever get anything finished!
I still haven't found my printer. So I keep hoping nothing sells in my etsy shop since I can't print shipping labels. Bad, huh?
HHHmmmm my hands are on fire after handling all those peppers. Wish I would have found my gloves. That'll teach me! And you! Pay attention when I tell you- Jalapenos=Gloves! This stuff would make a great lip plumper! My whole house smelled like sweet jalapenos all day. :)
So now Hubby's home. We had the vegan equivilant of tacos. They sure hit the spot.
My Mom goes in for knee surgery tomorrow. I know she'll be okay but she's had bad experiences with surgeries before so she gets pretty stressed out. But she should be able to walk and move more comfortably after all this is done. I miss her. I miss my family. I miss Ohio.
I'm going back to cuddle up with my silky Dragon comforter my Hubby bought for me 8 years ago. I love it toooooo much!
I'll try and write more tomorrow

Sorry about the abrupt ending. When Hubby says bedtime, it's not something you pass up ;)
Soooo right now I'm mostly doing glass tile jewelry. I have however sold a few of my polymer Steampunk Dragons! I love making those!
Soon I'll be making more creepy and unique stuff to add.
This month and part of last month, everything has been on hold. We moved! When Hubby retired we had to leave military housing. I found a beautiful place on the lake. I can't tell you how badly I want to see the water in the spring!
We rented it "as is". We've actually done quite a bit to it. And we did add to the contract that if she decided to sell the house we have the right to be the first to know and to submit our offer. It's a real diamond in the rough. It needs updating more than anything else. Badly. It was built in 1979 and there it has stayed. We were told that she does intend to sell but only when the market improves.
Well, I suppose I should go and make us some breakfast =)

Yep, no miracles here

Good thing I warned you by stating not to expect any wwaayyy back in my first posting!
Alot has happened in the last few months. I've pretty much stopped making bears to sell. Economy is so bad I can't even get my least expensive bears to sell. Right now I'm doing a mix of things that I'm still selling on etsy. I closed my artfire account. I never had any sales there which was really saddening. I even closed up my website. I was just really tired of paying for a site I wasn't making any money from. Etsy at least is always affordable no matter how bad sales maybe.
I do understand that there are a large number of people out there that don't care for the subject matter in my jewelry and other crafts, and that's okay.
Hubby retired from the military after 20 years. He's happy to be a civilian these days. Funny tho, he works at the same place he did when he was enlisted.
OOps bed time! I'll have to finish this tomorrow!

The great sadness

YEEEAAAH! I'm so proud of myself! I'm now the proud owner of a RUNNING 1965 Honda! Now it's just a matter of getting my license and learning how to ride the darn thing, lol. But...one thing at a time.
Slowly but surely I'm actually getting a few bears together and working on a pattern for a primitive style bear pull-toy doll. Hopefully he'll turn out the way I see him in my minds eye. Crackled, aged and on beautifully rusted wheels. I haven't done a prim doll in quite a while.
Hubby's gone again. It's the one downfall with his job. I clean the house like crazy in order to cope but I miss the place he fills when he's gone. It makes my day amazingly brighter when I see he's left a text message for me while I slept. He's the only man that ever REALLY made me feel beautiful inside and out and more importantly, really, truly and deeply loved. Working on our 8th year of marriage and we still shower together. Small, I know-but it's the small things that matter but get overlooked the most. I would never trade a day with him for anything-or even a day with out him. The days he's gone and I sulk-it keeps me appreciating what I have. *Sigh* I could go on about him all day =) Maybe one day I'll talk about how we met. That would probably explain to anyone who reads this why we have such an amazing bond.
A Tale of True LoversThousands of miles away
Pages and words to bridge
Closing of my eyes momentarily
Hmmmmm, there he is
Slowly inhale, lingering essence of lust
Ages will foretell the love, the romance of us.
Generations will envy the attraction,
Magnetism our heart's unfolds
History will be colored, tainted with the lovepouring from our souls.
Eyes will hunger for a glimpse of what we share
Finger tips, hands will quiver and long to journey there
Touching, reaching out to grasp what we have discovered
Falling short of their quest for their spiritual lover.

Where is spring?

Are you like me?

Think that as soon as "spring" hits the calendar it should miraculously be spring? I'm so terribly tired of the cold here. Granted it was cold in Ohio but Chicago has it's own temperature scale so it seems. 15 below here seems like a million below with the wind. UGH, the wind!

Yesterday I dug my motorcyle out. By today's standard I suppose one would call it a scooter but she's my baby. She's just as old and crusty as I am. Part of why I love her!

The bike was bad off when we purchased her. I found her on ebay and was not going to lose the bid no matter what. It did state that she was running but she was a 10 hour drive away so there wasn't exactly any way to check her out first =)

I've had her for several years now and have tinkered with her off and on. We haven't had any extra money for me to really get into her and get her fixed right away. Locating some of the parts took time to but then again she is from 1965.

I finally found a replica carb built in the proper way to match each OEM piece perfectly. I was really excited to see someone finally is producing it.

To back-peddle a little, when I purchased her, she was NOT running, not in the least. Ater I started tearing into it, the fuel tank was loaded with pinholes. The fuel had eaten and hardened the foam of the seat and the petcock was literally packed so hard with rust it was like trying to clean rock out of it. So needless to say the tank, petcock & seat were trash. That was just the beginning.

To save you all the boring details, there isn't much that hasn't been replaced. This summer will be her first actual time on the road in MANY years. At the top of this post is a picture of how she looked when I aquired her. I had a website all about her and what had been done so far but sadly I had it on AOL's Homepage which they shut down. So one of these days I'll do a new site. Hopefully it will help anyone else trying to restore one of these beautiful old bikes. I'm really excited to be getting her on the road!
So, on to another topic!
I'm slowly getting a couple new things listed on my website, etsy and artfire. I've been working on a few more anime style bears. I love making them. They leave so much room for creativity! Things are just slow because of me working on the bike (Goth chicks that are old farts and work on motorcycles are GREAT! Don't ya think?) Speaking of which...it's 7:30 am on a cold disgusting Wednesday and I have a bike to get back to.
